Community Prepares for A.J. Schmidt Elementary Color Run

ANGOLA, NY – A.J. Schmidt Elementary is preparing for an evening of community spirit and outdoor activity. The school’s PTA will host its annual Color Run on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. This event serves as a major fundraiser to support student experiences throughout the year, including class field trips and the highly anticipated Field Day.

The event is designed to be an active, unposed celebration of the school year. Students are encouraged to wear white t-shirts, which will serve as a canvas for the colorful powder thrown throughout the course. Before the run begins, families are also invited to visit the Scholastic Book Fair, which will be open inside the building from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

"This event is about more than just a fundraiser; it’s about our families coming together to create lasting memories for our students," said Julie Schwab, Principal of A.J. Schmidt Elementary. "The support from our PTA allows us to provide the hands-on learning and traditions that define the Lake Shore experience."

How to Participate

To join the run, a minimum $10 registration or donation is required. Students who raise $30 or more will receive special sunglasses and a bandana to wear during the event. In the spirit of friendly competition, the class that raises the most funds overall will win a pizza party hosted by the PTA.

Registration Deadline: All participants must register by Thursday, May 14, 2026.
