Native American Stories and Culture Take Center Stage at AJ Schmidt

Students at AJ Schmidt enjoyed a powerful visit today from storyteller Perry Ground, who shared “Stories from the People of the Longhouse.” His interactive assembly brought Haudenosaunee history and traditions to life, capturing students’ attention with humor, movement, and vivid storytelling.
Following the assembly, 4th grade students participated in a “Life in the Longhouse Village” breakout session. They explored daily life in a Haudenosaunee village and learned how these traditions continue to shape the culture of the Haudenosaunee people today.
We are grateful to Perry Ground for providing our students with an engaging and meaningful learning experience.
