Orange Shirt Day: Every Child Matters

Students and staff at A.J. Schmidt Elementary honored Orange Shirt Day, joining schools across the district in recognizing the importance of truth and reconciliation.
High school Seneca language students visited classrooms to share the story behind Every Child Matters, teaching younger students about Seneca language, culture, and traditions, and explaining why orange shirts are worn each year on September 30.
The day encouraged students to reflect on respect, inclusion, and kindness while celebrating the rich heritage of Indigenous peoples.
💚🧡 A.J. Schmidt proudly stands with the message that Every Child Matters.
